Like everyone else on this planet, I’ve gone through pain and heartbreak, but I’ve also enjoyed happiness and success at times. What I’ve learned, over the years, is that I am happiest when I’m surrounded by people who love and support me, and allow me to be my humanly-flawed self.
When you find yourself in a relationship, whether it’s personal or professional, that doesn’t allow you to be who you are, it can cause serious upheaval in your soul. You find yourself questioning your worth as a partner, a co-worker, a human being. If you don’t remove yourself from these relationships, your self-esteem will continue to deteriorate.
The secret to happiness is to find your tribe. Find the people in this world, that build you up, instead of tear you down. That cheer you on from the sidelines. That believe in you, even when you don’t know if you believe in yourself.
Surround yourself with these like-minds, and you will feel your spirit begin to blossom. You will feel more hopeful and more courageous in your life choices. That’s not to say that you will no longer endure pain and disappointment, but when you do, you will have a soft place to land among people who care for you.
Sometimes we don’t find our tribe by searching for them. Sometimes, if we just stay true to our own path and follow our passion, they will find us. Either way, if you’re not living within your tribe, you will never find true contentment. But, once you find them and connect with them? The sky is the limit, to what you can accomplish.
